:wtf:

Seriously.

:wtf:

Now, I know Family isn't much appreciated by many, but I do enjoy it. It makes me laugh. But this? What was the point of THIS?!

I mean, were they trying to be unfunny? It was like they wanted to do a classy show, but resorted to the potty humor straight up, and it just didnt gel. I laughed at the Shatner Rocketman song, but That and the Hill Street Jews were two bright bits out of a very very dull, weird and pointless half hour.

Unless, of course, Family Guy were going for their own Star Wars Holiday Special. In which case, they succeeded hands down...

I laughed a good minute when Stewie through us to the commercial for Sherlock Holmes. That was the only time I thought it at all funny.

I enjoy Family Guy more often than not, but this was one of the biggest wastes of a half-hour prime-time EVER. Painfully unfunny. Painfully.

I thought it was hilarious. I never stopped laughing.

The Marlee Matlin thing had me in tears.

"I almost Clevelan'd in my Cleveland!"

It might have been the dope, though....

Family Guy and South Park seem obsessed with jew jokes. I think these writers have complexes.

I must admit the very idea of this show screamed vanity project for Seth McFarlane. Is this a one shot or is it a regular thing? As for how funny it was, it was alright. They didn't narrate the movie trailers did they? I flipped away for those. I'd be pissed if I missed Stewie voiceovers over the trailers...

It looked and felt like a total hack job; bits and pieces of material tied together like some bad 70's era special. And a plastic audience for a laugh track. Yes, there were funny moments because this is family guy humor, but these two just whored themselves out for Sherlock Holmes & The Baby Ninja.

ugh - must NOT see tv

I thought it was funny as well--no dope in my case--but bashing Seth MacFarlane and FG has become something of a sport around here.

People seem to bitch and moan about how bad FG is and what a hack MacFarlane is, yet they also seem very well acquainted with the newest episodes and specials that are being produced. If it's so despised and so terrible and without any value, why are they continuing to watch it--for the thrill of bashing said program in the TV and media forum?

Anything FG-related is going to be low-brow potty humour--why are people surprised when FG goes for the cheap joke? It's like people are expecting FG to suddenly have all the jokes and wit of The Simpsons circa season 5. That's not going to happen ever--the show is crude and offensive, and will continue to be crude and offensive until it leaves the airwaves. Anyone expecting anything else will be sorely disappointed.

I love Family Guy, American Dad and I'm even liking The Cleveland Show.

Yet, this special was just sub par on almost all levels. I dunno why they didnt show a rerun in that half hour slot, that would have been more worthwhile than...that.

Also, the bets where Seth and Alex ragged on Celebs....now, ok, I think its one thing to do it under the veil of a Cartoon and fictional characters, but did anyone else find that skit a bit much considering it was "real life"?

I saw it and it made me realize why I stopped watching Family Guy to begin with.

Pop culture references as a crutch? Check.

Toilet humor masked as being "edgy" or "un-PC"? Check

Self satisfied smugness? Double check.

Just because it makes you and your cohorts laugh, Seth doesn't mean it works for the rest of us.

I actually liked him in his appearance as an FBI agent in Flashforward. I'd like to see him do more stuff like that.

I must've been a dope too. I thought the Marlee Matlin thing was hilarious.

"Well, we tried calling you, but the phone just rang and rang."

meh, no simpson's, 2 1/2 hours of MacFarlane's intelectual abortions, I didn't even bother, I have given up on all of MacF's shows save for American Dad, which I usualy don't bother with because it means having to sit through FG and the pathetic Cleveland Show
