"Face Mining": TOS analyzed by computer

Pretty neat.
I'm sure it has some more practical application...I don't need a computer to keep telling me when it's Kirk's face on the TV.
I watched a bit of their Where No Man... and they said Kelso was Scotty!

I could see actors' agents perhaps using something like this for leverage in negotiating or renegotiating contracts. Now, besides simple line count, you have face time, reduced to statistics and plotted.

I noticed that, too. A little more tweaking of the recognition routine in order, maybe, or more image samples of each for the program to compare.
 
That Scotty/Kelso thing may be that the guy that first scanned Kelso designated him as Scotty, so maybe not the computer program's fault.
