I hate this, haven't smoked in two weeks but I would really, really like to light one now, that sucks.

Re: Fucking hell, I want to smoke a cigarette I can't speak for smoking (my demon is a bit worse), but from my own personal experience, when you're trying to kick an addiction, you're your own worst enemy. It helps to anticipate the fact that you're going to try and rationalize buying another pack. You then need to break down WHY you're thinking of smoking again, and find the logical break in your thinking (and there will be one). You might lose the argument the first few times, but given practice, you should get pretty good at convincing yourself that there's no reason for you to smoke, aside from it being mildly pleasurable. The vast majority of it is willpower, so unless you're truly sick of smoking and ready to quit, you're probably going to backslide. Otherwise, try working in an exercise routine as you're breaking the smoking habit. It'll give you something to do, it's positive reinforcement as you notice how you're not nearly as winded and tired, and it keeps away those extra pounds you'll pick up as you snack instead of smoke.

Re: Fucking hell, I want to smoke a cigarette A remedy for nicotine cravings that works! A dash of tabasco, a dash of cayenne pepper, and a dash of red pepper mixed together with a raw egg. It is an 'interesting' drink, but it does stop the cravings.
Re: Fucking hell, I want to smoke a cigarette The first two to four weeks are the worst. It gets easier after that. I smoked for 18 years before going cold turkey 16 years ago. For the first month or so try to avoid those situations where you used to smoke the most. Also get a jar or tin and put in it the money that you would have spent on cigarettes. Make some plans about what you are going to do with the money. You could choose to buy yourself a treat at the end of each week or else aim for something bigger - maybe a trip in a year's time etc. When you feel like a smoke when you are at home count the money instead.
