External drives -- PS3

I was looking around for a new one for my PS3 and all I have come across have been ones that are either portable ones that won't work for it or ones that are bigger than 2 tb. So my question is this: Has anyone been able to use a 3 tb drive to back their system up onto? I'm just wondering. I was able to set up a 4 tb one up for my Windows 7 laptop, but I had to wipe it before using it, as it wasn't compatible with it before then.

If i remeber correctly fat 32 would restrict you to 2tb max volume size, so you possibly would need to make two partitions of 2 and 1tb, if i remember right, been a while with anything PS wise.
If you do not need the extra space then it might be simpler to stick with the 2tb.

Although personally i would just stick the 2TB into the PS3, much simpler, or has your ps3 had issue with corrupt or lost data, never had any myself, still have my 2010 slim ps3 with the 320gig hdd i put in it 4 years ago, still works with no issues.(of course now i have tempted fate and it will fail when i switch it on next time). lol
