They just need to replace Linda Blair with Jaime Lee Curtis.
The first season of Fox's series was gripping and at time, terrifying. Geena Davis was wonderful in the role and thanks to not reading ahead, the turn was a surprise to me. I know a lot of folks "saw that coming a mile away" but it really did take me by surprise.
I'm interested to see how they rework this into a continuation rather than a reboot though I'm not sure there's enough room for both Burstyn and Blair. I guess it depends on if the roles are more than cameos.

3, I can see fitting into continuity. Hopefully, much like Highlander 2, we all just ignore it and move on.
Exorcist 3 had some really good moments. George C Scott might have been miscast, but he did an admirable job.
