Excelsior bridge artwork?

Wingsley

Has anyone ever tried to draw or make illustrations of the Excelsior bridge as originally seen in TMP3? I'm not talking about screencaps. Trekcore has a few of those posted.

I'm talking about making pictures of the bridge, either as color artwork or as a deckplan, including the furnishings (consoles, chairs, etc.)

There's this one at ex-astris, from the old ST mag:

Unfortunately, that doesn't have the NX-2000 bridge (STIII), just the NCC-2000 (STVI) one. It would be interesting if someone did recreate that bridge. It was one of the more unique ones we've seen.

You are correct.

I am talking about the NX-2000 bridge under Capt. Styles, not the later NCC-2000 bridge under Capt. Sulu.

Other than the TMP3 screencaps, I've never seen anyone pay attention to this particular bridge.

I Tried to draw the deck plan out one time and came up with 2 versions based on what I saw
Here is the Small Bridge Version

Here is a The Large Bridge Version

Heres Styles Chair and it was the same style as the other station chairs

I don't know if that would help you :)

Actually, that is a big help. Thanks.

How close to the screen caps do you think you are on the chair?

Are you sure the two navigation/helm stations are joined like that? I got the impression they were separate.

Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure you're right.

Trekcore STIII Cap 1

Trekcore STIII Cap 2

Those look lke two consoles to me, and not a traditional single helm.

Side note: the STIIII Excelsior bridge makes that ship out to be huge.

I always thought it was shaped like an oval and had a giant 3d screen on the front half on the bridge...

At least that was what the concept art in The Art Of Star Trek book suggested.

Considering I was going by memory and a couple of pictures of ST 3 as well
as backing and forwarding my dvd of those Scenes looking mostly at the
Captain's chair not the helm Nav station I guess I'll have to go back and
revise her some day (Grin)

Seriously Wingsley the chair is as close as I could draw it base on the visual clues
in those scene and the couple of pictures and magazine information from
the time and looking at the DVD is it Accurate Hell no does it give you a
rough idea of what the chair looked like I'd like to think so. I would have loved
to have gotten the set blueprints for the Excelsior Nx 2000 Bridge set complete
with chair details but that wasn't in my power. Hell I still think the best Captain's
Chair is the TMP WOK version and would have loved to have gotten Detail prints
of those in order to draw it up properly but I'll settle for getting the Idea across
that the restraint system on the Excelsior Nx 2000 and Enterprise TMP WOK are
different animals. (Grin)

Actually from what I remember the Excelsior's Bridge set was no bigger than the Enterprise's.

The fact that the Enterprise's bridge has a sunken section in the middle (where the Captain, Helmsman, and Navigator sit), it produces the illusion of it appearing smaller.

Well Since I used my TMP Bridge Plans as the template to do the Excelsior the innercircle of the Bridge is the right dia the aft end is all my speculation I also designed these bridges with the 8ft dia turbo elevator shaft as opposed to the 6ft dia shaft. Now it might be that my Chair are
scaled a tad small thus making the bridge look larger than what it really is:)

Heres one with the 6ft dia shaft
