Excellent Criminal Minds News (Spoilers)

Potential great news for Criminal Minds fans: A.J. Cook is in talks to return to the CBS crime drama next season as a full-time series regular. Meanwhile, executive producer Ed Bernero — who has run the series since the beginning — is leaving. Another Criminal Minds veteran, executive producer Erica Messer, is set to take over as sole showrunner.

:techman:

With this great news and the fact that Paget Brewster might be returning if her new pilot doesn't get picked up, the team could be back together again. Looks like fan backlash really worked. I know the ratings dipped a little and a lot of people vowed to not watch Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, which may have actually drifted over into the Nielsens crowd.

I havent really kept up with Criminal Minds once AJ left, and while I did watch the first part of the two parter that saw the exit of Paget Brewster, I never caught the last part.

The show just doesn't really do much for me, the first couple seasons are terrific, but I just don't get the same feeling from watching it like I used to.

It's definitely not as good as the first 3 or seasons, but I'm hoping some new direction will help right the ship.

Good news on JJ, but I hadn't heard about Paget before now. (I don't actively avoid spoilers, but hadn't been looking for them either)

Given the last episode shown in the UK though, I'm unsurprised.
