I tried visiting the Ex Isle BBS this morning and found only a page saying "This Domain Name Has Expired." It was working just fine as recently as last night. Does anyone know what happened to it?

It's back now. Hopefully it was just a temporary glitch.
No, according to the board admin, what happened was that "The registrar auto-changed all subregistrars (people who can register domains for others) to two factor authentication. It never occurred to them that the phone numbers they had on file for some of us [since the 90s in my case] were LAND LINES. A phone that can't receive texts? Inconceivable!"
I was quoting the board's administrator there. It was his landline under discussion, not mine. (Although I do have a landline, and I was once a moderator on that board long ago, though never an admin.)

Unfortunately it doesn't have stuff from the old site archived except what we managed to salvage individually and repost. I have heard of efforts to archive its content separately, and some of it has been backed up on Archive.org.
