Evidence of SNW being a possible alternate timeline from TOS

In Kurtzman Trek it all looks the same and all n the tech feels the same. I can't tell the 23rd from the 32nd.
I can but that's not the point.

If I'm thinking about a different era while watching a show, the show has failed at being entertaining that I'm using on "Hmm...what does this era tech look like compared to this other era's tech?" It's just strange to me.

And, well, TOS is so unrelated to everything else connecting it is a lesson in futility to me.

I always focused in the way things looked. It had to make sense to me.

As long as it makes sense inside the individual story then I'm pretty ok.

But, I'll grant some focus on visual aspects. It's why TMP and TOS can't fit for me, plus the character details. TNG even more so. So, my focus is on individual series not the whole.

Mileage will vary.

Yes, that is certainly a rumor.

if it was true then i am gonna acknowledge that there is now a star trek multiverse lol

where star trek discovery strange new worlds and starfleet academy is set on a different alternate reality where its almost just like the main one where star trek tos tng dsn enterprise and voyager are based in but with some differences

That's what is happening
It really isn't.
When new creators don't care about canon
They clearly do. There's multiple examples of the show going out of its way to maintain things established in TOS.
Its obvious the SNW writers do not have full knowledge of Trek
Sure they do, but they are also smart enough not to let a small detail from an episode 60 years ago ruin a chance for an interesting story nowadays. Trek has always done this. If this is one one of your numerous canon violations, it's a minor one at best. SNW is doing no worse than any other series.

You should get your eyes checked.

Agreed. Its become a mess now. When new creators don't care about canon but claim their stuff is a prequel it really messes with everything. They had spock mind melding with Kirk on SNW. In Dagger of The Mind he proclaims hes never tried a meld on a human and that it could be dangerous. Its obvious the SNW writers do not have full knowledge of Trek.
The franchise has had far more serious contradictions long before SNW even had a realistic chance of being a thing. Hell, had TOS done flashback episodes, they would have disregarded that line in Dagger of the Mind in a heartbeat without any second thoughts on the matter.

Ok. You agree with me. Im exactly with you. If SNW and STD are an alternate time line I am totally fine with that.

As much as I favor alternate timelines, it still comes down to whether or not a given show is entertaining.

What I’ve watched of SNW has largely been entertaining. A couple of episodes deserve to be mentioned with the best of Trek. Regardless of timeline interpretations.

Trek has been a multiverse since “Mirror, Mirror”

Why do you need a corporate blessing? Enjoy Trek on your terms.

We all have our crosses to bare.

😜
Why are we baring anything? Seems like a way to get an indecency citation ;)

This. If Star Trek has errors before then new errors are forgivable in my eyes. It's not like this is the same writing team of TOS who are making already learned mistakes. This is a new team learning as they go being subjected to 60 years (nearly) of fan expectations.

I am a fan of giving grace.
