The diary of Ambassador Spock our operatives retrieved only mention a one sided crush from a certain Leila Kalomi, and no mention of the rather obvious relationships that Spock has had with Nurse Chapel or Lieutenant Noonien-Singh.
Pike: Wait Spock becomes an ambassador? How can you know this if it hasn't happened yet? How do you even have a diary that he hasn't written yet?
Dulmer: The diary also mentions that he never mind melded with a human before a certain Dr. Van Gelder. Yet it's known that Spock has recently melded with James Kirk before even meeting Van Gelder.
Pike: I'll... uh... order Spock never to mention he's melded with a human before?
Lucsly: I think we ended up causing more temporal problems than we solved. What if Pike talks later on?
Dulmer: A few changes to some baffle plates will make sure he doesn't.

You're trying too hard. Either enjoy what's there or don't but don't torture yourself over it. Sometimes something simply doesn't work. Picard doesn't work for me. No harm, no foul.
It could've been a lot worse. The words "Gorn breeding sac" didn't appear once in that scenario.
Which is just one of those things that makes it just different from what came later and why I just choose to enjoy SNW on its own terms.
