European Football Season 2018/2019

It is time to start a new thread. Worldcup is over. Business as usual in Europe's leagues is about to come.

Our Worldcup heroes will be busy in their respective leagues. Hopefully there are funny or interesting things that can be posted.
I'm curious what Ronaldo, Robben, Kroos, Neymar, Cavani and others are currently doing.

I was surprised that Brazil went into the Worldcup without David Luiz. He obviously didn't make it into the team. He was recently pictured when a Giraffe tried to eat his hair..... Seems to be a funny guy with all the hair. Remember him crying like hell 2014 after the disaster against Germany.

Champions Leage and Bundesliga will be my main interest. You may also post Qualifier results or other interesting things.

Let the fun begin.....

Football League started today in England and my Club Nottingham Forest got a solid 1-1 result away at Bristol City so nice to get off the mark on the opening weekend. The money we've spent means we HAVE to finish in the playoff's for the manager to have any chance of not being sacked though i'm really hoping for Automatic Promotion and predicted a 2nd place finish. I brought my first ever season ticket and from this Tuesday evening until May 5th it's going to be one hell of a ride at (our stadium) the City Ground.

I actually attended a match for Mansfield Town, who are the the town next over from where I live and they won 3-0 so that was great to see. Mansfield Town (League 2) are my local team but Forest (a short train ride to Nottingham) are and always will be my first love of Football, so here's too a good season for both...

UEFA Europa League Winners

Other Notable League Champions:

Supercup Final in Germany.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Bayern Munich. 0 : 5.
Three goals by Lewandowski.

Liverpool supporter here. I'm really hopeful for us this year. Probably not winning the league but I think we can get second.

I did a 200 mille+ round trip to watch my team play GOD DAM AWFUL and yet still walk away unbeaten this season with a 2-2 draw against Wigan by scoring a Penalty rebound in injury time. Few days earlier I saw us score in injury time in the opening round of the League Cup and then win a marathon penalty shootout 10-9...

It's fucking exhausting being a Forest Fan :scream:

Bayern startet with a 3:1 against Hoffenheim. I didn't watch it live because of Law & Order SVU.

Only one month into the season and the wheels on the bus are slipping off (not quite fallen off yet). The more the things change, the more they stay the same at Nottingham Forest.

Mpappé freaked out in a PSG match in Ligue 1. Earned a red card for it after scoring a goal. Neymar with his typical antics. Cavani scoring, too. Buffon not in the team.
Looking forward to the Champions League matches.

Mbappé "freaked out" in a match where the other team played a little hard on the players and where the referee did nothing about it.
Neymar is actually likable since the beginning of the season, with extra efforts with the team's supporters, that was not the case last year. I guess it's another story if you are not a PSG supporter but that's the game.
Buffon not in the team because he is suspended for 3 matches of Champion's League so yeah, Alphonse needs to be ready for that.

Football is often about provocation. Don't tell me about the thing that happened to Cavani against Chile several years ago where Jara put his finger you know where. Cavani retalliated and received red. Jara was banned later on. And Cavani is not responsible for what his father did at that time. I heard that he had a face-to-face talk later with Jara which speaks for Cavani's forgiving character.
As to Mbappé: he is usually one of the players I like. And if I had to chose between Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo I would pick Neymar. I'm not into the French League, but I actually like PSG (not only because of Tuchel, Cavani and Buffon), I was just surprised by the heat being involved in that match.
I heard about Buffon being out of the team for at least two matches. Tuchel's decision. Buffon will be back. He supported the team from the bench which speaks for his team spirit. Trapp left PSG for one year to play with Eintracht Frankfurt. He lost with Frankfurt 1:2 against Bremen. Another exciting match in the Bundesliga.

Waiting for the Champions League and see how Barcelona will play this year.
And of course following, when I can, the Spanish National League (Primera Division).
Messi continues to break all records. Now was the time of Better assistant of all time of Primera Division.

Is Suarez with Barcelona? I have already my Champions League planner!

Today there is UEFA Nations League. Everyone wants to see how the Germans play against France. It will be difficult for them. I predict a 2:1 for France, hoping for a better result for the Germans, though!

it's essentially replacing the random friendlies yeah

it has ramifications for the Euro 2020 qualifiers though, as 4 nations (one from each league/division) are going to also qualify for 2020

A new tournament consisting of several groups. UEFA Coefficient is critical. Just google it. Obviously only friendles between tournaments aren't sufficient and interesting anymore. And it should be incentive for the the teams to take the matches seriously.

No goals between France and Germany. The match got better in the second half. The result is better for the Germans, though. Next match for Germany in October against Holland.

European Championships 2024 will be in GERMANY!
