It's way too far for me otherwise I would love to go. Conventions are the best! I'm sad that they're being cancelled here in the US

There's a company here that really is the only one that does pure Star Trek conventions. They have a big one in Las Vegas every year as well as a handful of smaller ones (one in my home state) all of a sudden they cancelled everyyhing but the Vegas convention.

I emailed them to ask why they were canceled, the response was "i don't know, join our mailing list"

Well, because the convention in Vegas is the bigger one and one of the rare chances to see a great part of Voyager's casting, especially Kate Mulgrew, a part of me would like to attend this one, but in the same time, the other part, more reasonnable, thinks that travelling to States from France just for a convention is a waste of money and time spent in a plane for just one day or a weekend!).
I wait the annoncement of an STV's convention here, at Paris, which already welcomes a lot of Sci-Fi conventions.

Treklanta wasn’t cancelled. Robert Duncan McNeil was there.

I guess it depends on where you are. I know for sure they’ll never cancel DragonCon. The Trek Track is usually huge.

I've been to Dragon Con. A huge disorganized mess. I was very dissapointed.

The Vegas convention is rediculously expensive. The tickets are hundreds of dollars

It’s unfortunate you had a lousy time. I’ve found it to be quite the opposite.

I know. I was shocked to see the tickets price (without autographs) but on the other hand, Vegas convention is a well-oiled machine to make a lot of money and ST actors know that perfectly because they save the dates on their agendas quite early. In short, it is the place to be for fans and actors!

I went to the last two. They’re alright but there isn’t much to do if you do the three day package. I would Space everything out and try not talk about Star Trek to the actors while getting autographs as they find that refreshing. My sister had a nice conversation with Patrick and Daniel Stewart about sleeper trains. My brother then went on to talk about Bullock quotes with him.

The only one I really want to meet but haven’t is Frakes. He keeps cancelling the ####. :)
Issacs is coming which is cool. He was like the only decent thing in that Discovery mess.

This is why i looked forward to their other conventions. They charge more but they know what they're doing.

For my boyfriend and i to go to the vegas con it would cost us about $5000

I've never heard of such stupidity in this day and age! Cash is harder to find than gold in the UK! :wah:

Back in the day conventions were much more affordable. Today they are a money machine. Last year we went with the "cheap" tickets which cost $150ish
