Zendaya from Spider-Man Homecoming as a SKEEVY teenage junky, the center of a sexually obtuse, violent, sexist, dysfunctional, rapey, drug ridden, lying web of assholes. There's weird universe building, strong characters, and if you don't blink, there's McSteamy's garden-hose sized pene from Grey's Anatomy/The Last Boat, to keep you up all night, crying.

Well made and distasteful, but riveting.

Anyone watching?

I am. BInged the first six episodes and then watched the seventh last Sunday.

I'm a nervous wreck over what might - or might not - happen in the finale. In usual promo fashion, I imagine there's a lot of misdirection in the trailer.

It's beautifully directed, shot, edited and the performances are wonderful. Zendaya and Hunter are standouts, but they're all great. I don't love Fezco quite as much as most people who post about the show seem to, but Angus is doing a bang-up job, there.

The writing is...mostly excellent. I may have a more definite conclusion on that score after this Sunday. :D

BTW, McSteamy's penis is a prosthetic - for several reasons, one of which proffered is simply that it's more respectful of the scene partner not to be waving an erect dick around on the set. Perhaps another is that not every mainstream male performer has the physical and psychological capacity that porn dudes do to be "available" on cue all day and on schedule.

I'm going to take a ridiculous guess and say that something unexpectedly happens to Cal in the season finale.

Probably wrong. But the thing is, he's a character who's been made part of the central story and whom the writer works to create empathy for, putting him into scenes in the show on some weeks where he's really not necessary - and his only real important contribution to the show's overall plot line was made in the first week. He's been of peripheral importance since, but he keeps showing up. He's the only character on the show older than 20 who exists as something other than just a prop.

Plus, it would fuck Nate up in an interesting way.

Australian?

Sweet.

Paula Marshall is one of my favourites, because I used to love watching her spar with Jeremy Piven on Cupid.

As the wife, it is her job to punish Cal for the litany of one night stands.

Although it's possible that he didn't know that Jules was 15? So he wasn't trying to be a pedo, it just sort of happened, and she may have lied about her age, or he never asked, which is just fucking stupid, considering how thin that she is.

If she's smart, Cal's wife will slowly poison her husband and then collect the life insurance.

If she's dumb, it's explosive blood splatter and jail time, and Nate is...

Unless they have an agreement?

She can't give him what Cal needs.

So as long as McSteamy is the perfect husband, and father, Cal is allowed to discretely bang dudes in a Motel 20 miles away from their school district, and the status quo abides.

Still watching the second mid season special.

Did we know "this" about Jules before?

It's a very casual bomb.
