Equinox TV Movie?

Would a prequel tv movie about the Equinox have worked? Similar to how Battlestar Galactica portrayed the Pegasus in the tv movie 'Razor'.

A storyline of Ransom leaving DS9 (?), being captured in the Badlands, forced to take the long way home, the deadly attacks against the Krowtonan Guard which killed half the crew, and maybe a couple of other unseen adventures.

in fact voyager would have been a whole lot more interesting with two ships than one, perhaps swapping of crew members, a trial

NO. your talking about using a cast that were guests in only 2 episodes having there own movie, were would the voyager cast fit in? You could easily have a Voyager movie that takes place anytime during there 7 seasons, not every adventure is televised and maybe there biggest adventure is something we have not seen !

And for that reason, hence a film that CBS would never do, for them to even concider doing a tv it has to be something that has alot of gravitas to it. They wont do any type of Star Trek tv movie anyway (well at least not for a while) let alone some that just hinges on 2 episodes of Voyager. Still i would like to know why a little nova class planetary explorer vessal like the Equinox was doing in the badlands anyway when they got pulled to the DQ.

^^ do we know they were in the Badlands? The Caretaker wasn't limited to the Badlands, and Federation vessels are spread over some distance. It's just as likely that the Equinox was way on the other side of UFP space.

I think the Equinox story is done. It didn't make a whole lot of sense in the first place, but was a great season cliffhanger for a show like Voyager. While I like John Savage, I think the Equinox story should be left as is.

It might have worked if we saw more of the Equinox crew AND if the original Equinox story was just better all around with much more impact.

As it is, I think John Savage would be strong enough to carry the movie. However, the story of the Equinox is probably best left to alternative media.

Battlestar Galactica: Razor had the advantage that they were able to include cast members from the regular show.

While I'm sure it would make for an interesting 90 minutes, I agree that now, in 2008, it's something that wouldn't be considered.
