Episode list for new '90s X-Men DVDs

As you may have remembered from the earlier discussion, Disney is releasing the '90s X-Men show in VOLUMES...not seasons. Well, in this case, it's actually good news. They're doing it much like WB did with the Batman:TAS and Superman:TAS sets. Because each season is erratic with its number of episodes, seems like Disney is splitting the entire series into equally episodic numbered volumes. In this case, 16-17 episodes each. (The first two seasons had 13 episodes in them).

So what does this mean?

Well, these first two volumes will actually contain the entire first two seasons AND the first 7 episodes of Season 3 which include the 5-part "Phoenix Saga". Full episode list here: List.

So with that, the series will probably take another 3 volumes with about 14-17 episodes each, as there are about 40 some odd episodes left.

is that the real cover art? That's pretty shitty especially the 2nd one.

I wonder when they'll release a DVD with the material that Disney didn't deem "age-appropriate."

I wouldn't knock the cover art so fast, as it's a placeholder graphic.

This is the final cover design for Volume 1, done by David Nakayama:

Not only is this cover beautiful, but Dave's also left plenty of blank space for titles, branding and bar codes, which should make for a great display piece straight from the store.

However, I fully expect some moron to slap a sticker on Magneto's or Beast's face.

Right...well lets just hope they release the entire series this time and not just part of it. I'm still in "I'll only believe it when I see it" mode. Once burned...and all that.

True. It's not like you can't replace it anyway. There's at least a dozen or so threads for alternate DVD covers in Trek Art.

the problem with the X-Men cartoon show...the ONLY real problem....was that it is physically impossible to encapsulate the X-Men universe to the extent from the comics. I mean, I literally loved it so much I felt it could easily have sustained an ongoing, running show just adapting the back-issues of the comics (doing good plots and ignoring the bad ones) and run for like 20 years.

but the real problem was it ended without resolution; oh they slapped one on, but they had that legal fiasco that forced them to end the show even though ratings were high.

This is good news as far as I'm concerned...been waiting and waiting for this and Spider-Man The Animated Series which I'm hoping is up next later this year.
