Spoilers Episode 3 Publicity Photos and Preview

This is what I'm looking forward to! As far as anyone who came on board for Pike: Welcome to the rest of the show. They're part of it too. Who knows? Maybe they might even grow on you. If you can give Pike a chance, give them a chance -- an honest chance -- too. If the Discovery crew is going somewhere different in Season 2, who says the Klingons can't?

Meh, I'd rather forget about the Klingons and Giorgiou and focus on more episodes like last weeks with a thread linking them.

This might be shockingly obvious to everyone else, but it only now occurs to me that however much "Point of Light" refers to Klingon myth, as it probably does, it also might certainly refer to the mysterious lights showing up across the galaxy. Possibly even to Tilly's green glowing spore if they go that way. Hmm.

This looks intriguing. I'm on board for this episode. And damn, maybe I'm more into L'Rell/Ash than Michael/Ash, than I realized. It's probably a good move to have the Klingon court intrigue and Section 31 threads in the same episode. I have no doubt that they'll intersect with the 7 points of light/Red Angel stuff eventually.

Looking forward to seeing what's been happening with the Klingons since L'Rell took over.

Also first on-screen Section 31 since Enterprise (not counting the bonus scene from last season)

You know what I've liked most about the first episodes of Discovery S2? No Klingons. I did like some of the Klingon stuff in S1 (even the all-Klingon dialogue, which was a great idea), but the ending was such nonsense and such a disappointment (a drone with a planetkiller bomb is enough to stop the war? No, it's existence would drive the Klingons into MORE of a murderous rage) it killed my enthusiasm dead.

But I guess if this Georgiou/31 stuff is setting up a spin-off series, they must think they've got something worthwhile on their hands. And I like Ash.

Wait, it's only been - what? - a months max (and likely much less) since bald L'Rell held up a bomb device in the centre of Kronos, right? How does she and have that much hair? And Voq-cum-Ash too?

Otherwise, looks great!

I like that one of the Klingons doesn’t have a full set a hair, there is variation in the hair styles.
Exactly. This is what we wanted. Variety. Before DSC every Klingon was a long haired viking, last season everyone was a bald lizard. Maybe they now find some sort of an middle ground. Not every alien has wear the same clothes and have the same hairstyle.

Who knows. We may someday see a Vulcan without a bowl cut :D

Saavik and Tuvok just facetimed me to tell you, you hurt their feelings by overlooking them
Yeah, and just realized that I forgot the bald Vulcan Starfleet officer from the first season :D

But still the bowl cut has become kind of ridiculous. Since TNG it seems to be the default haircut even for females.

Can't they magically stimulate hair growth in the future? Like Seven of Nine going from Borg bald to long blonde hair.

Sure they can. But it has explicitly been several months since the end of the war when Burnham gives her big speech in Paris, because at that time Spock has been on leave from the Enterprise for two months already.

Might be more easily enough. And Klingon natural hair growth shouldn't be all that quick or else L'Rell would have grown some during her multiple captivities.

Klingon diversity is fine and welcome. I'd have been happy with all Klingons in DSC looking alike as well, though, because Klingons are the folks with variety in any case: they constantly vary from spinoff to spinoff. Perhaps they are simply really serious about fashion?
