Big disappointment, apart from the formulaic, stereotypical (and most welcome!) depiction of Romulans and Klingons. Grr!

Archer complains a lot. A kvetching whiner. T'Pol worries about whether her olfactory senses will be assaulted by Archer's dog's stool. She worries about this for paragraph after paragraph.

There's an in-joke about some Martian concern called "Barsoom." How cute! Edgar Rice Burroughs, anyone?

Then a reference to "immortal ambulatory cannibals." A nod to the Zombie infatuation of 21-st century adolescents?

Is this Star Trek? Dog crap and Zombies?

    I say thee nay!

That's a lot of friggin' subtitles for one book!

There are a few more cheesy references to Jeff Bezos and Carl Sagan.

These latter-day writers no longer get their inspiration from TOS.

And, (rant almost over), some decades ago one writer had the nerve to name some Trek characters after members of the Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey Team. Cringe-worthy deadbeat!

It might be years before I find the reference. Maybe one of you lot will find it before me?

It's all opinion. The book is 6 years old and did pretty well having 8 editions printed.

So this is what Star Trek readers have to submit to these days? We learn that Vulcan's dread the smell of doggy doo-doo? Intimate thoughts about the contents of canine excreta?

    And the book was reprinted?

How many printed in the initial and subsequent runs? Any idea?

    Thanx!

He is one of the more prolific of the modern Trek writers and one of the ones you seem to dislike with your broad opinions of them.
