Enterprise Incidents Podcast

A new Star Trek discussion podcast started this year that I am really enjoying. The hosts are very enthusiastic, they do the research, and they go in depth on every episode. So far, they have gotten through both parts of "The Menagerie."

Check it out if you feel so inclined. Steve Morris' other podcast, The Cine-Files, is also highly recommended, and they have talked about at least four of the Star Trek movies on that show.

Listened to 1 1/2 of them per your recommendation.
Last year when I had some eye surgeries I downloaded some Star Trek Original Series podcasts to listen to at hospital when I couldn't see.,
Unfortunately when I listened to them they were all by Next Gen fans who basically hated the Original series and I had no choice. I couldn't see LOL. When I got home I tried to find a podcast about TOS where they were at least neutral.
If I wanted to see some hating of TOS I could just go into the Next Generation forum.

So thanks for finding a podcast where they actually like the Original Series. Where the Original Series inspired their career. Where they met and liked Shatner. Where they have a few interesting tidbits of info I didn't know. Where they talk about other Trek series with respect instead of derision. I hope that keeps up as the series goes on.

After their coverage of the fifth episode, the most criticism I can remember of the other series is that their B stories were not as well integrated with the main stories. I can agree with that.

An example of extra content is that during the discussion of “The Enemy Within,” Steve would periodically chime in with a bit of our current understanding of how the brain works and how the episode compared to that, given that they had 1966 knowledge.

Quick update: The podcast has finished through Season 1 of TOS. The quality has been very high throughout, and they even got director Ralph Senensky as a guest on the deep dive for "This Side of Paradise."

It is an interesting podcast and there is no doubting their love of TOS. They go into each episode in great detail. As to the background research I'm not so sure they provide much that a well-informed TOS fan wouldn't already know. I feel they may be leaning quite a bit on the Cushman books (see their comments on The Alternative Factor, for example). They often come across as a bit too enthusiastic for my taste. But I think I'll keep listening.

Enterprise Incidents has finished all 80 TOS episodes and has now moved on to start covering TAS. Some notable interviews and guests include William Shatner, Adam Nimoy, Walter Koenig, and Alan Dean Foster.
