Sir Ian McKellen as Richard III

“A Lewis gun, a Lewis gun, my kingdom for a Lewis gun!” ;)

What about emperors, empresses, and pharaohs? They were all considered royalty, and were often addressed as kings and queens.

I said, "sure." Why are you arguing? If you want to use an emperor, then go ahead.
There seemed to be some question as to whether they were actually people who reigned in the same way as those who called themselves kings and queens.

Historical tidbit: In I, Claudius there were people who referred to Augustus and his successors as monarchs, and the new system of government (after the fall of the Republic) as "the monarchy." That's one reason some of the older generation were displeased with how Augustus took power and intended it to be passed to one of his descendants - because Rome had already had its age of Kings and thrown them out, and didn't want that sort of tyranny back again.

Anyway, I still have to decide on an entry - lots of choices... :)

^Whatever.

I don't care what you enter, as long as they were actual rulers and didn't just get called/call themselves rulers or monarchs. I should think it's rather obvious. I don't care if they are historical figures or fictional, just so long as they were actual rulers/monarchs/kings, WHATEVER. I can't make it any more clear than that.

ANYWAY....One more day for entries. I'll try to get the poll up Friday night.
