yeah, btw... she's using water to heal that kid. that's how it fits the theme. :) it's so funny... on avatarspirit.net this week's round of the icon game is a pass-it-on contest, where people have to make as many icons as they can, in the cycle water, earth, fire, and air... i just made an extra water icon for that game and used it here too.

Mhh, one question to those who have already entered: Including me we only have 4 people entering in all categories plus Whoa Nellie entering in one category. Should I go forward with creating the poll or extend the entering deadline?

ETA:

And since the participation is down overall, I'll open this thread up for you to make suggestions to improve the contest:

New structure?
New time table?
New contest runner?

Fire some ideas at me. :)

I think everything's fine with the contest runner ;)

I'd suggest we change the timetable: more time to enter and more time to vote. A bi-weekly time schedule works fine for Voyager av contests.

I think it is even more important that participants include links to the corresponding threads (to enter and to vote) in their signatures - if they wish, of course. I never check the DS9 forum for one thing, but I follow the link in WwW's signature to DS9 av contests quite often, vote and even consider participation every now and then. Same with Enterprise contests.

It's a mystery for my how Voyager av contest are more popularly that TNG ones :vulcan:

Thanks. ;) I just wanted to make sure that everybody knows that I'm open to anything. So if anybody thinks I'm part of the "problem", s/he shouldn't shy away from saying so.

I'll collect some suggestions like this and make a vote so ther can be a democratic decision about them. But I'm somewhat implementing your idea by extending the deadline for this contest till monday evening CET.

A good idea, but the space in the signature is limited and I for one would like to keep the links to my contributions to the site I'm writing for there. Would be cool though if some of the regulars who maybe don't use their signatures much or have space left would link to the contest. :)

Ah, well it is running longer than this contest. When I started this contest after what from what I heard was a rather long time without a TNG contest, the Voyager contest was already very well established. And I think in contrast to this contest they pretty much have a core group of participants which is entering (almost) every time, while for some reason or another the participants in the TNG contest are fluctuating a lot. People enter for a few weeks and then stop doing so, others take their place, then those people loose the interest, and so on.

I'll change my signature on the next occasion. The problem is that I don't actually post anything on BBS but participate in av contests! :guffaw: So I don't know how helpful it will be :alienblush:

Great, and since you post in avatar contests, the people reading it probably are more inclined to join in on another contest, so you're reaching the right demographic. :techman:

I think a longer period to get in entries would be great too so I'm glad the deadline has been extended. :techman:

I'd enter more often if I had watched more than the first three seasons (several years ago at that :p) of TNG. Voyager and DS9 are the only trek I've watched all episodes of. Sometimes I enter this random theme category if the topic strikes my imagination.

I think the contest is fine the way it is, more people will probably have time to enter if the deadline was extended to 1,5 or 2 weeks, though.

I mostly go to this thread whenever it's the last thread that has been posted in, so it's on the front page. Otherwise I tend to forget it. So, a signature link might be a good idea. :bolian:

Random: This is an avatar I had lying around. It's from the video game Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Some of that blue mass in the middle is water, btw. ;)

^I like the colors in this avatar so much, WwW!

I haven't watched all the TNG eps either. I just read about an episode on Memory Alpha if I haven't seen it and go to TrekCore for screenshots :)

I used to that when I first started out on this board. But somehow I stopped, probably due to impatience. :p

Not many additional entries so far. I'll extend the deadline another 24 hours since I'm not sure if Cali's earlier post meant that she wants to enter. I hope the extra day will give Cali the chance to do so if she wants. :)
