To have any sort of geek cred, you have to have seen a few movies that co-starred Bill Paxton or Michael Biehn. In fact, they've even been in a few movies together (The Terminator, Aliens, Navy SEALS, Tombstone). Their roles are also often quotable on message boards ("Game over man, game over!").
There are quite a few science fiction/supernatural movies you can pick from for making an avatar, but for the sake of us TrekBBS geeks, you can also use their action movies (The Rock, True Lies, Trespass, The Art of War, Streets of Fire), disaster movies (Twister) and westerns. Spy Kids even works. And I'll also accept Apollo 13. Just no Big Love or Titanic.
