This weeks avatar contest is Spring. Images that remind you of Spring...springtime...etc. No SF/F or General Media please.

Spring is one of the four temperate seasons, the transition period between winter and summer. Its days are close to twelve hours long with increasing day length, as it occurs near the time of an equinox. In the Northern Hemisphere, spring runs from March into May

Well, I like the blossom one because visually it's the most stunning of the three, and it reminds me of springtime at my parents' house.

The red spring of course is the John Sergeant entry.

And then there's the ducky. Because I like baby duckies.


OK, the duck it is.

Because nothing says "spring" quite like an adorable little hatchling prematurely ending the life of an inferior creature.

There's an old Danish tradition, where you write a rhyme on a papercutting and sign it with dots then send it to someone with one of these little signs of spring attached:

If then the receiver within three guesses finds out whom the letter is from you owe them an easter egg, if they don't guess it they owe you one! (It used to be a device for flirtation between young adults but is now more of a device for getting candy for kids)
