Heroes are important. They can teach us, lead us, or inspire us. They protect us, save us, and at times, sacrifice themselves for us. People don't have to save the world to be a hero. They just need to make a good difference, no matter how big or small. Be it parents or teachers, that set an example for us, or show us the world. Or an athlete or musician that show us, with hard work and practice, we can accomplish. Ordinary people that stood for justice or produce some of our favorite media or inventions. Maybe a legendary or imaginary hero that we read about, who inspire us to achieve or be heroes too. Real, legendary, or fictional heroes are all allowed.
How about heroes that inspire others to make a difference. I've had the pleasure of having the opportunity to hear him give a talk a few weeks ago and he was amazing! Even ended up singing.
Here is my entry, it's my Dad. He is and has always been the greatest influence on me and all that I do.
I still can't decide from my long list of heroes. From George Washington to Winston Churchill, from Gandhi to Martin Luther King Jr., from the Wright Brothers to soldiers. I'll go with the crew of Apollo 11: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins for showing us that we can reach for the stars and achieve our dreams. I should mention Yuri Gagarin and Alexey Leonov for their historic feats too.
