HR won for the episode Stigma, with JiNX and Lys tying for 2nd place.

For the theme Awkward Moments, the win went to DanTheGrey, and runner-up to JiNX and HR.

For the random theme Secrets, HR barely edged out JiNX.

This week the episode is Cease Fire.

What program is good for creating the anamated Avatars? I found a thread here once but much of the software mentioned was no longer available at the links provided or does not work on Vista. (Yes, I said the 5 letter word.)

Well, if you're willing to pay: The one I use, (Jasc from Corel) is very good. Lots of neat features.

Since you have Windows (my sympathies, I have Vista too; SUCKS! ), you can also use an unsophisticated program called unFreez. I don't have the site link anymore but you can google, it should pop right up.

I use Adobe Photoshop Elements, a stripped down (and much less pricey) version of Photoshop.

Ah, well I figured that "normal" Shran shots from Enterprise would turn up in a huge number since he also is featured in this weeks episode, so I thought I might should go another route for the theme since as you said you hadn't specified ENT only. And since there was an Andorian first officer in one of the TAS episodes AFAIk I thought it might would be neat to see him as Kirk's first officer.

But if you want, I can change the entry to a real Shran screen cap.

No no, go with it, by all means! It's a great photoshopping job--I did a major doubletake when I saw it, LOL. I just didn't expect it.
