Yep. My mother makes a great chocolate cake with chocolate chips. No frosting; you don't need any.

Anyone in our family who's gone away to college in the last 40 years has gotten that cake in the mail as a care package (she was all bummed that she had to strictly make sure nothing touched peanuts when making it for my older nephew at U. Maryland last year).
