I want some love for Ensign Anastasia Targus, from the movie-game "Star Trek: Borg."

Warning: Spoilers (for a 30-year-old game)

A veteran of the Federation's first war against the Cardassians, and POW. Cardassian torture derailed her Starfleet career, and rendered her dependent on a cybernetic implant in her forehead, that she later uses to interface with the Borg. After all that, she died in Wolf 359...until Q saved the ship she was on, teleporting the U.S.S. Righteous ten years into the future. And through all of that, Targus retains a chipper and snarky attitude.

    A few observations:
    • After being presumed lost in Wolf 359, the U.S.S. Righteous returns in 2377, the same year as Voyager!
    • Her actress, Marnie McPhail, not only appeared in the "Voyager" episode "Innocence," but her character revealed the hilariously stupid plot twist at the end.
    • The Righteous, alongside the Enterprise and Voyager, is one of the only ships to meet Q
    Where is she now?

    Prime Timeline (Onscreen canon)
    • Given her experience with the Borg, could Targus be working aboard the Artifact in "Star Trek: Picard?"
    • Or, given her experience with the Borg, the Cardassian Obsidian Order, Q, and time travel, might she have been recruited by Starfleet Intelligence?
    • If she had to keep that fancy head-implant longer than expected, would Targus be in danger of the same implant-harvesters that got Icheb?
    • I'd be on hog heaven if she got a "Lower Decks" cameo!
"Renegades" timeline (that campy fan film by Tim Russ)
    • I'd totally see her working with Tuvok in Starfleet Intelligence
    • She might use her implant to communicate with the (alive and cybernetically upgraded) Icheb
    • Her implant might even be related to the one Shree (the Andorian) uses.
    "Star Trek: Online"
I've never played this one, so someone else will have to take the speculation from here.

Isn't that the same actress who sticks her head in the wrong place in First Contact?
Maybe she got transferred to the Enterprise E some time after the game.

That would be some pretty rotten luck!

    Same actress, different character.

(In ST:FC, the character is "Eiger", and does not have the implant.)

I guess she was trying to put her old life behind her by finally getting rid of the implant, and changing her name. ;)
