"Enemy Starfleet!" Release Date: Thursday, October 21st, 2010

Officially, I'm confident that we won't hit our longest time lag between episodes (which is one year and five months--which would happen in April). Unofficially, my best prediction is a bit better: we're probably about a month away.

Shortly after you mentioned sticking to a one-per-year release schedule and yet aren't four (Kitumba, Enemy Starfleet, Child and Origins) now finished with principal photography with a fifth to go to camera in June 2011? That's some lead time!

Is the next episode, whatever it'll be, still expected in the Feb-April time frame?

Well, my "average of one-per-year release" prediction was meant to be descriptive, not prescriptive.

Yes, we still have "Enemy: Starfleet!," "The Child," "Kitumba," and "Origins: The Protracted Man" in post-production. Our lead time is indeed pretty long! We *could* hold off on shooting another episode (as if that would somehow magically shorten the lead time on the other episodes we're already working on). But we basically have only one brief window of opportunity per year to shoot an episode. If we decided to forego a shoot this summer, we basically lose our opportunity until the summer of 2012. So we shoot stuff when we can. As I've said in other posts, if something happens and our sets all burn down a year from now, we would really kick ourselves that we didn't grab one more episode when we could have. (The current game plan is to shoot "Mind-Sifter.") Fortunately, shooting another new episode doesn't really slow down the post-production team who is working on the earlier episodes; they are pretty much two different sets of individuals.)

Yes, I'm still thinking that we will not exceed our longest "between episodes time lag."

Thanks, dru, for your enthusiastic support.
