Hmmm...I hadn't heard about that particular rumor detail. Interesting, if true.

And before people start screaming about Joan Redfern and her ancestor looking the same, allowing me to direct them to The Massacre of St. Bartholomew's Eve, The Enemy of the World, Black Orchid, and "Smith and Jones" for other examples of cosmic coincidences.

True, true, but I was referring specifically to cases where the main characters encounter (or refer to in the case of Martha) doppleganger of themselves (The First Doctor, The Second Doctor, Nyssa, Martha).

This is true. My uncle Terry is the spitting image of my great grandfather to the point where people who knew them both have trouble telling whose who in photographs.

I don't look like any of my ancestors though, unless you count The Vikings.
