It might have happened if Leonard Nimoy has his way.
Story
Of course, Christopher Lloyd was excellent as Kruge, surprisingly so as most of us only knew him as Reverend Jim from Taxi at that point.
But EJO.....did he have the same steely gravitas back then as he did later as Adama? It's been decades since I watched Blade Runner, so really can't remember much. The guy that played Adama would absolutely have been a great Klingon.
Story
After seeing him in Blade Runner, Nimoy was convinced Edward James Olmos was the right man for that critical part. To Nimoy's disappointment, fellow producer Harve Bennett was lukewarm on Olmos, feeling he lacked the physicality to appropriately portray the Klingon warrior. After several rounds of auditions, Bennett ultimately won out and Olmos was passed over in favor of Christopher Lloyd.
