Earth not being the threat...

I was actually kind of glad that this film didn't make Earth the threat again. I know Earth wasn't a threat in a few other Star Trek films, but it has plenty of times: ST:TMP, ST:TVH, ST:First Contact and Star Trek:Nemesis. One thing though that shocked me was Vulcan ended up being the threat, I would of never have guessed that.

Anyone else feel the same or different?

I was just glad that the climax didn't involve some variation of a ticking countdown to Earth's doom, prevented at the last possible second.

Sorry, this movie does count as yet another Trek film in which Earth is in danger.

They were, after all, trying to destroy the planet like they did Vulcan...
