I prefer what we got over this http://trekcore.com/blog/2018/05/star-trek-discovery-makeup-team-reveals-early-saru-alien-look/
Yeah, too much. And would be a bitch to make look decent if you wanted those other eyes to look functional.

Cool alien, but better for backgrounds than as a main character. Interesting they rejected it because they realized Jones couldn't emote. Wish they'd had a similar epiphany about the Klingon design.
"Your world has optometrists. Mine does not. Our species map is is composed entirely of googly eyes. We're either predator or prey or give really uncomfortable stares across the room at parties. My people developed Visine before the wheel. We were biologically determined for one purpose and one purpose alone. To wink. I'm winking now." -Proto Saru
If they could've figured a convincing way to have the eyes move (meaning not randomly) it would have been interesting.
The actors would not have knows what eyes to make contact with. Also, that grey prototype uniform is terrible.
i wonder if this is an early sciences uniform with the division color full body instead of just the shoulders. or a starfleet sweatsuit, because with those sneakers on, he looks like he's going to the gym in the 1980s.
It made me wonder if DSC was going to be set post-TMP and that was their reimagined fugly grey jammies
I assumed it was just a drawing of a Spock type science shirt. Blue with a black collar. I'm guessing the uniform design wasn't done at that point, so they improvised.
https://trekmovie.com/2018/05/29/st...tease-new-and-reimagined-aliens-for-season-2/ Oh FUCK no! Somebody please stop them from going full on (fuller one?) self-referential! Can't they... I don't know... do new stuff? Or at least timeline-appropriate stuff? E.g. no Romulans, no Borg, no Ferengi, ....? Pleeease?
These are just things the desingers would like to do, not the writers saying that they plan to do them. I do however agree that I would prefer Discovery to not revisit old stuff.
