Well... EA's press conference was pretty meh. Although, I admit that the only game from there that I'm interested in is Mass Effect Andromeda.

Yeah, EA's conference was pretty lame. They had very little show (that Star Wars section was pathetic) and padded it out with lots of talking about the games rather than showing the games. Fe looked a little interesting, but it doesn't stand out in 2016 when there's so many indie games like it. A few years back it would have gathered much more attention.

Seeing how Nintendo's already said that they'll have, well, nothing, I'm really hoping for Red Dead 2 gameplay footage. It's odd how Grand Theft Auto does nothing for me, but RDR is the best thing ever.

Of course, if you want to go ahead and surprise me with a proper side-scrolling Super Metroid sequel, Nintendo, I won't mind . . .

Yeah, the lack of NX this year is very disappointing, but at least we're finally going to learn about the upcoming Zelda. I'm not really an Xbox fan, so it's up to Sony to impress me this year. They had a fantastic E3 last year, so I'm excited to see what they have to offer this year.

Yeah, I think they wanted to do NX this year but something happened where it couldn't work due to hardware development not going as well as they expected, or maybe not having a solid software lineup for launch (and thus, risk the same kind of launch as the Wii U and/or 3DS). I mean, as late as March this year, Zelda was still on track for 2016 and everyone was expecting that to be a Wii U and NX dual release. So something probably changed between that and the shareholder meeting when they announced it would be 2017 instead.

Oh well... it'll happen when it happens.

In the meantime, we just have to be content with artwork like this (and the livestream on Tuesday):

Titanfall 2 MP looks great, the SP looks (at the very least) interesting in that they're obviously going for a human touch.

Interesting strategy from Microsoft: "Here's a new, slimmer version of our existing console. Oh, and here's another console we're working on that will be released a year later and will play the same games."

Ubisoft's conference was okay, but I wasn't paying attention to most of it. They did explicitly call out the Nintendo NX as getting a version of Just Dance 2017 next year. So the NX will have at least 3 games coming to it!

(Zelda, Just Dance, and Dragon Quest XI even if Square Enix later retracted that statement...)

With the Xbox Scorpio launching late 2017 I don't understand why they announced it today. Why not wait until E3 2017? Announcing it now is just going to cannibalize sales of the Xbox One S. Microsoft must have their reasons, but hell if I know.

Anyway, Sony's conference was pretty good but understandably not as good as last year. Too many third person open world games with guns/bows for my tastes; they all kinda blend together. Nice to have a date for The Last Guardian though.

Not a big fan of that costume, but I guess that doesn't matter since I don't have a PS4.

Microsoft is not worried about cannibalization by the target audience of E3 messaging

Joe "I want the one that plays Madden" Shmoe on the street is not aware of E3 announcements, not even when mainstream media covers part of it
