DVDs..wouldn't it be cool?

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is an interesting exploration of current/future media distribution methods. You can watch it with commercials for free on Hulu, or you can buy the burned-on-demand DVD-R version at Amazon. You can also buy its soundtrack on CD at Amazon, or buy/download the MP3 version for a bit less, or just get the individual track(s) you want.

This sort of flexibility and choice among various bundled/compartmentalized options does seem like the way things are headed, and I look forward to it. There are several series (Trek and other) where I'd like to have a few eps, but not a whole season set. Then there are others where I want it all (and thus want a cheaper per-ep price). Win/win.

Honestly, if I'm going to own it, I want a complete collection. I can't imagine picking and choosing like that. (shrugs)

Depends on how much you like the series in question. DS9--I totally agree, and I had to have them all. Same with nuBsG. (And possibly someday for Frasier, if I ever get the money for that!)

But something like TNG...I would prefer to handpick. There's a lot of great stuff, but just as much I'd just as soon pass on.

I dunno, I really couldn't do that. Voyager is my least favorite but if I am
going to have any episodes, I'm going to have them all. It's all Star Trek
and would feel really weird and incomplete only having specific episodes
instead of the entire lore.
