If you are a completist like me, yes. I have both. But the again, I bought all the fan collectives even though I had all the series on DVD. Depends on how much you think $60 for both will set you back, if you buy new.I never bought the 2005 2-Disc special editions of Insurrection and Nemesis, but I already own the Blu Ray TNG movie set.
Should I buy the 2-Disc DVDs for the extra content, or does the BR also include everything that came before, such as Okuda's text commentary?

There's no text commentary on the blurays.
It's great. They really rip into the film. The Blu-ray of Insurrection has the Frakes/Sirtis commentary.

You sure that the Frakes/Sirtis commentary isn't there? I could've sworn I watched the Blu-ray with that commentary. But then I'm getting old and misremember some things sometimes. So I may well be wrong.
GET OFF MY LAWN!!!
It just dawned on me that you said no TEXT commentary!God, I feel stupid!

"When did that happen?!" That was probably my favorite part. The udder "shock" they had when they saw Patrick Stewart was an associate producer made for some fun! Great commentary! I wish the 2 of them had done the other movies as well.
Yes, the commentary on "Generations" was surprisingly blunt. Braga admitted to freaking out when he realized "All Good Things," a script he and Moore threw together quickly was better than "Generations," which they'd slaved over for year or so.Yeah, I liked the candid commentary in Generations. I don't remember the FC one.
