DVD release schedule

I'm picking up the Tom Baker DVDs as they come out. What in the world is up with the totally random release order?! My wife, who hasn't seen but a handful before, is seriously confused as companions dance between Sarah Jane, Leela, Adric and Romana at random. I hope to collect all the Tom Bakers so we can some day watch them in order, but there are still big-ass gaps in the releases.

Makes-a no sense!!!

It's a mixture of the most popular, the least popular (so that they don't go through all of the most popular serials first), and having some connection to the new series.

Some of them take longer to restore than others and I thought they were coming out in some order of popularity.

I'm quite sure EMH is correct about mixing the popular and less popular stories to vary up the releases.

As for the September releases, I picked up both the Invisible Enemy and the Invasion of Time and... while I enjoyed them, they're not amongst my favourites. Shame that the only classic releases between now and Christmas are just the Brain of Morbius and the Trial of a Time Lord boxset with both of those coming in October. Nothing for November or December. :(

Also: if you went through them in order, there'd still be none of the 1980s Doctors on DVD, even ten years down the line!

^^That's something I've never considered, but you're totally right...

Perhaps that wouldn't be such a bad thing...

Colin Baker
Sly McCoy
Peri
Ace
Bertie Bassett

Give me Catherine Tate any day of the week.

How could you list all those superb characters/actors, and not list the only one that actually deserves to be on there: Mel Bush...

And who is "Bertie"?

Actually, McCoy's my 2nd fave after Tom Baker.

We watched Invasion of Time last night and, hoo boy! That didn't need to be a 6-parter! My wife fell asleep. A few times.

The Liquorice Allsorts bloke off The Happiness Patrol.

Hehehe. I actually fell asleep during the Invisible Enemy. I got both, watched the Invasion of Time Friday night and the Invisible Enemy last night. The former was much better than the latter. My brain still hurts and it has nothing to do with Leela kicking it!
