DVD Release Date?

This is probably way too early to be asking this question yet...but I can't help myself since I'm surprised that Paramount hasn't announced this already...but anyone know or want to take a guess when the DVD is coming out and what do you or are you expecting on it? I want a cast and director audio commentary (J.J. has done one for MI:III, not sure about Cloverfield) a making of feature or behind the scenes documentary and deleted scenes would be nice. My own personal guess is that we can probably expect a release date sometime in October or maybe late September.

This movie has me wanting my first Blu-Ray player. Currently I have a DVD player which "upconverts to 1080p definition". Can some of our technically inclined members educate me on the difference? If I have an "upconvert" player, do I really need Blu-Ray?
