Duty Station...

2 of 10

Captain
Captain
In Star-Fleet there must be hundreds of duty station that one could serve on either a StarShip or Ship building or on duty at Star Fleet HQ, on a space station small ships, medium ship, or large Galaxy type ships. If you had your choice of any posistion in S.F. what would you do and why would you choose your post. Must say tending bar in 10 Forward would be pretty cool. However, I would choose to be assigned to the temporial
integrity commision. Time travel has always been of interest to me, so my choice is a natural, what about yours...

I'd go for the Sciences department, studying galaxies and celestial bodies and things of that sort.

engineering where the true power is. a captain says what he wants,, science officer uses scanners, a medical officer heals but for them to do those things they need power so that would make me one of the most important peole on the ship.

Command of a Flag bridge. Not because of any power trip (although the privileges of command are nice ;)), but because I enjoy working with the strategy and tactics.

Having played a captain in two RPGs, I would have to say I'm typecast now. Captain of a starship it is.

Turbolift Control. I mean all you do is sit in a little room watching two lights. If the green light goes out and the red one comes on you call Engineering.

That's a sweet gig, and you never have to worry about invaders working their way to your position and shooting you 'cause you're non-vital and also the odds of getting assigned to the landing party is non-existent.

Pretty good survival odds, plenty of off-shift holodeck time and plus you get to brag about being in Starfleet!

I always fantasized about being a helmsman. You get to sit on the bridge, so you always know what's going on. Occasional landing party duty. And you get to steer this huge ship.

That, or push the vacuum like that guy in TWOK.

I'm thinking I need to have some more marine commando cross training for my turbolift controllers and helmsmen/janitorial staff.
