Any fans hereabouts?

Recently picked up the complete series on DVD for a mere $26.

Had seen much of it back in the mid 1990's when it was first-run, but had forgeotten exactly how good this series was. Both funny and intelligent, great characters, fun stories, some serious stories, and of course Dieffenbaker.

The writing on this show is very consistent, also. I especially enjoy the interplay between Fraser and Ray. They play off the US vs. Canada sterotypes, but not in an insulting way.

Still not sure how I feel about the last season though with the character change.

A fan of the first two seasons, not so much the last one which suffered both from an increase in ridiculous stories and an attempt to do a buddy series without one of the buddies.

Always liked it when he spoke to the dead father though, that was a nice touch of surreality.

I went and bought the complete series a couple of months back. Previously I hadn't seen the final season (with the cast changes), but I'd enjoyed the previous seasons when I'd seen them on tv:)

I enjoyed Due South. But I don't think I'd lay down hard cash for it. Entertaining in its time, though.

I had seen part of 1 episode when it was first aired but never remembered when it was scheduled. A few years ago I saw the season 1 set at Best Buy for $12.00 and bought it. That was the first (and only) series box set that was a "blind buy" for me. Now, it's one of my favorite series.
I didn't like the third season as much as the other 2, but what really disappointed me was the last episode that had both Rays. It seemed like there wasn't enough interaction between Fraser and Ray #1.

I loved the series back in the 90s, to the point where I paid for VHS copies from someone in the States (complete with Wisconsin commercials).

It's one of those nice "safe" shows that you watch when you don't want to feel grossed out by The Shield or The Wire... and there's definitely a place for that. Sort of like how TNG is the antidote for BSG.

That said, if I were to watch it again, I can't imagine that I'd love it as much as I did back then.
