DS9 Relaunch Novels

I've just finished what's now probably my 5-6th full rewatch of DS9, but I never read any of the Relaunch novels. I am sadly realizing that we'll probably never get any more of the canon DS9 story. Would it still be worth going on the DS9 novel relaunch journey?

Yes, because they're amazing.

Okay, I think consensus is that they're (generally) amazing to a point, and then things get a bit...erratic...but you should at least read Avatar through Unity.

I'll second the recommendation for at least reading some of the early relaunch novels. I've been thinking about rereading some of them myself!

I've recently read Mission Gamma through Unity, and really enjoyed them.

As long as you're OK with the fact that they don't line up entirely with the Paramount+ series, then yes I'd highly recommend them. They are what first got me into Trek Lit, before them I had only read the New Frontier books, but as a huge DS9 fan, I couldn't resist once I found about them, and then they became my gateway into the larger Novelverse as it grew from that point on. The whole Avatar - Unity era is one of my favorite series ever, they're great books, and did a fantastic job of continuing the story on past the show.

If you're able I would recommend tracking down copies of the Divided We Fall TNG/DS9 crossover comic miniseries, it's part of the relaunch and referred several times afterwards, and it's really good. It's not an essential part of the relaunch and could be skipped if you can't find them, but if you can find them they're definitely worth reading.
