Greetings! I just finished watching Season 7 of DS9 and want to continue with the books. Can someone tell me the first book that continues the series? Is there a list somewhere?

    Thank you!

Yes there is a list, I'm sure it is on Bing or Ask. As for the first book, it is generally considered to be Avatar.

The DS9 Relaunch is still one of the best things ever in TrekLit. I know that quite some fans feel it went a bit downhill after the Worlds Of Deep Space Nine series, but I still loved it. I can easily pick up any book of the DS9 novels for a reread.

I started reading ST post-Nemesis but then I decided to go back and read the DS9 relaunch so I would understand what was going on with the characters in Typhon Pact. I was really iffy on a non-stop 20 book marathon with nothing but DS9 (fearing I would long for character variety and get burnt out on DS9), but by the time I was finished I was super bummed it was over. I'm waiting a long while before I go back and reread it because it was just so great that I want to relive it as freshly as possible.

Like I said, I'm super excited for you!

If you want to jump right into it, I would start with Avatar, but within the timeline I believe Left Hand of Destiny 1/2, The Lives of Dax, and A Stitch in Time all fall between the finale and Avatar. I started with Avatar and still haven't gotten to LHoD or ASiT, but the Lives of Dax is a great read, but not necessary for the overall story.

But I am told that A Stitch in Time is also excellent.

A Stitch in Time is excellent. In fact most Cardassian books are.

The Left Hand of Destiny shouldn't be skipped either. It's a big and great Martok story.

And they've got McCormack to write about them. That's always helpful.

Personally, I wasn't that impressed by it.

Just watch out with "A Stitch In Time"---not so much for its story but it's 2 sequels. One appears in the anthology "Prophecy & Change", which follows on from a one-man play that has never appeared in print, and yet it occurs between ASIT and the P&C short story, and the short story relies heavily on the play.

Wow. I definitely am not going to have any trouble with summer reading. :) I just have to get through the series first. I'm just about to wrap up Season 3.
