This contest's episode, chosen by Marie, is "By Inferno's Light" from season 5. The DS9 related theme, chosen by arasam, is "The Letter R" , and the Random Theme, chosen by Nerys, is "The sound of music" - All those sweet sounds that inspire you!

"R" is for "Romulus"!

Random Theme:

It's a Pak'ma'ra! I hope this applies, as this is one of my favourite pieces of character dialogue ever, from the final episode of "Babylon Five". The sound of music, and inspiration, are definitely key:

"You know, Londo never liked the Pak'ma'ra. I mean they're stubbon, lazy, obnoxious, greedy....But one day, Londo and I were walking past their quarters, and we heard them...singing. .........You may not believe this, but it was the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. I couldn't make out the words, but I knew it was filled with sadness, and hope, and wonder...a terrible sense of loss. I turned to Londo and- this is the amazing part- there was a tear running down his face. I said to him, "Londo, we should leave, this is clearly upsetting you", but he just stood there, listening. And when it was over, he turned to me and he said, "there are 49 gods in our Pantheon, Vir. To tell you the truth, I've never believed in any of them. But if just one of them is real...then god sings with that voice".

SO many wonderful Cardassian shots to choose from in this episode! Ultimately, this won: I actually feel sorry for Garak here...he actually thought his exile was over--and had his hopes dashed yet again.

In honor of Una McCormack's novel, The Never-Ending Sacrifice, R is for Rugal Pa'Dar.



Random Theme:

This is an album that really inspires me when I write about my AU version of Dukat. I would have chosen Thrice's album Vheissu, which inspires me as I write his entire universe, but that cover just wasn't as photogenic. (Note: I did do some cropping to make the text more readable. All you're missing is more desert.)

I love the first track on this album. It has inspired me to continue with my DS9 reviews I'm doing on Word at the moment. Coupled with the fact it's on an excellent Youtube video (Last fight of the Valiant)...

LOL!! I was thinking of cleaning it up (I think I have better pictures etc. now) since the Jem'Hadar hugging is in the episode before... but I have other options still...
