This Contest's episode, chosen by me, is "Time's Orphan" from season 6. The DS9 related theme, chosen by od0, is "Odo/Kira" , and the Random Theme, chosen by Vulcan Princess, is "Things that Fly"!

AVATAR RULES
Anyone is welcome to enter avatars in this contest! The theme must be DS9 related, while the Random Theme can be from just anything. The avatars have to conform to board rules: Up to 140x140 px and up to 70kb. Avatars will be accepted until Juli 31 some time in the evening CET.

They're all good. I've been thinking of trying my hand at an animated avatar this time around. How do you make them?

I size down the images I want to use and send 'em to JiNX-01, and she animates 'em for me.

I use Ulead Gif Animator but I know that some people use Gimp or Imageready. If you need specific information feel free to PM me for basic help but NCC-1701 is really the guy you should ask since he makes amazing animated avatars and he always seem to be willing to share his knowledge.

Episode:

Theme: I decided not to do animated this time. I tried for an hour and it wouldn't animate, so it's back to static for me. (I was going to do one from The Collaborator where Kira tells Odo that she loves Bareil, and then have it cut to the look on Odo's face.) This one is from Necessary Evil, right after Kira asks Odo if he'll ever be able to trust her again, and he doesn't respond.

Sounds like fun! I'd like to be able to go to conventions as well but it's too far to travel for me. Some day, though...

If you've still got the frames I'd be happy to animate them for you. Just post them in this thread or PM them to me. Sounds like you've worked too hard to have the images go to waste.

Thanks! I used Imageready. It's an old version that they were getting rid of at work and they gave it away for free. (I think it's like version 2.0 or something. It came with Photoshop, which is why I really picked it up.) For some reason, it wouldn't layer.

My frames are on my other hard drive, so I'll PM them to you tonight when I get home.

I have never used Imageready for animations so I don't think I can help you with what might have gone wrong. But hopefully someone else will read this and will be able to help. I used 2.0 for other image editing tasks for a long time, though. It's a good program.
