Drive - unaired episodes

Good news for those of us who were fans of the short-lived series Drive - starring Nathan Fillion and produced by Tim Minear. The two unaired episodes, "The Extra Mile" and "Rearview" are now available on Amazon Unbox. I found them a few weeks ago on YouTube, but it'll be much nicer to have clean versions that aren't chopped into 8-10 minute chapters.

Drive - Amazon Unbox

I really hate that the series died so quickly. I remember reading Tim Minear's plans for the following episodes and being SO disappointed that we'll never see them realized on screen. *sigh* At least it didn't last long enough to be an emotional wrench to lose - just regret for lost opportunity.

Unfortunately, FOX even tried to market Drive, though I'm not sure I would've tried marketing it quite the same way they did. I miss the show.

They marketed the show and people bitch.

I got sick of seeing the ads for the show that's how many ads they showed.

The show sucked, the ratings were completely horrible. It was the right thing to do and cancel the garbage.

Actually, the show's premise turned out to be quite interesting in the way it was handled. Most of the characters' mysteries were captivating enough to make me want to see more, and the acting - with a couple exceptions - was stellar.

I liked the fact that they all seemed to enter the race for different reasons & from different angles. Some were forced - like Alex. Some were offered the opportunity out of the blue - Wendy, the three stooges, Dad & Vi. Some were manipulated - Winston & Sean, the hot rod army couple.

I wouldn't say the show had enormous depth, but the mystery behind it all kept me engaged. Of course, I didn't even try the show until earlier this year, because as you both indicated, the marketing didn't really reflect the show.

Anyway, the thread was more for information purposes than for people to come in and say how bad the show was. For those who might be interested, enjoy. I'm sure the rest of you have better things to do.

It was a great show, but I'm not sure I see the percentage in watching just two more episodes. It's not like they complete the story or anything, so it just seems like reopening old wounds for little reason.
