Wait, you're using an original idea in Hollywood wasn't really an original idea to begin with?

There is no such thing as an original idea anymore. Everything is a copy of a copy of a copy.

An original idea is one thing, to blatantly borrow another idea for a plot is another thing entirely:
here's what he told Collider about where he got the idea. "Well, I stole it," he said. "It's a little risky putting yourself out there again stealing ideas, yes. It really came about as a result of...I don't remember specifically where the idea came from, except that once I started exploring the idea of people sharing a dream space, entering a dream space and sharing a dream. That gives you the ability to access somebody's subconscious. What would that be used and abused for?"

a lawyer says
"Dream manipulation has been around at least since Shakespeare's fairies did it in A Midsummer Night's Dream,"
From the EOnline article above.

I actually think that was kind-of the point of the entire movie. ;)

Flatliners

Well anotherther big dream manipulation genre film is getting a revival:
while the 1990 film Flatliners
centered on a group of medical students who bring subject themselves to near-death experiences in order to see if anything lies beyond the big sleep.
Not exactly dreams but in the same realm of dream manipulation.

'Flatliners' Revived By Columbia Pictures With 'Source Code' Writer on Board to Script (Exclusive)
The studio is remaking the 1990 drama, which featured a slew of young rising stars including Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland and was directed by Joel Schumacher, and has tapped Source Code writer Ben Ripley to pen the screenplay.
Not surprised but this is a film that doesn't deserve bringing back Kiefer Sutherland for his role or as an elder.
I think the studio will just reboot it with a young cast.

I know. The concept seems ripe for an update.

Edited to add: I didn't realize this was a zombie thread. Should I load my shotgun?
