It was full of stuff about the Aryans being offshoots of Time Lords and the Doctor battling against "mongrel races". The bit with Versailles and the French, however was actually kind of clever.

That was great! Of course some people will think that was actually the parody-maker's opinion. (Mind you I'm sure someone out there shares Adolf's opinion!)

But I have to agree - it's almost worthy of another Hitler rant to address the fact they did all this, but missed the real punchline. Oh well!

I have to ask: What's the original source material? Whatever it is, I'll never be able to watch those two scenes the way there were meant to be.

The movie "Downfall" is just excellent, if you get a chance grab a copy of the actual film. I think with the original English subtitles to that scene you wouldn't laugh at all.

The closest might be The Iron Dream, by Norman Spinrad. It's an alternate history novel where Hitler became a science fiction writer, and contains a novel-within-a-novel, Hitler's Lord of the Swastika.
