This was the Paramount executive whose name appears at the end of every season-3 episode. At the time he was only 37 or so - Shatner and Nimoy's age.

One claim represented as fact in the piece, or at least not refuted: It was his idea to can Landau/Bain from Mission: Impossible and to bring in Nimoy.

No friend during its third season, that's for sure: His hard-hitting cost cutting measures were a major factor in Ralph Senensky getting fired from directing "The Tholian Web."

Ditto for the third season of "Mission: Impossible" (same year) -- read Patrick J. White's excellent book on that series for the details (Cramer is interviewed in it -- somewhat bravely, since it's far from flattering.).
