Doug Drexler Blog Site

I thought it would be fun to share the following site with everyone. Doug Drexler, who worked on Trek and now works on Galactica, has set up a blog type site with pictures and stories from his career.

Although the site is new, already there are some interesting tidbits here that would interest many Trek fans to say the least.

I call Doug, "the nicest man in Hollywood" for a reason. I'd invite you all to come look and take a peek behind the curtain.

Doug's been a friend of mine for more than 5 years now - and I personally am happy to see that he's done something like is. I expect you'll find something to smile about at his site as well.

Enjoy!! :rommie:

Thanks a lot for that site! I was the one who originally contacted Doug concerning the kitbashed models from the DS9 Tech manual. Imagine my surprise when he actually emailed me the model photos he based his drawings on. I almost had a heart attack:) He is really a great guy, right up there with Okuda, Sternbach, and Dan Curry (all of whom I've corresponded with).

Hey, thanks for the heads-up dude! That's friggin' Trekker web-based heaven of Earth IMO! OMG, so much to look at and read! Thanks again! :D

LLP,

Great new site to keep an eye on. It answered several questions I had about production in a single read. :)

I have been going to that site for a little under a month now, and I have to say it is one the BEST sites out there. Plus Doug was kind enough to respond to some of my questions regarding my two FAVORITE ships! the NX-O1 & ENT-J :)

How'd you contact him on his blogsite? I looked around for a way to contact on his blogsite but could not find it. I'd like to contact him to get more info on the cgi animation sequence he and his team did for ST:Enterprise of the in-orbit generic space plane that is shown in the into to the show right before the NX-01 is shown. Maybe it is another Enterprise that we don't know about?
Here's a screen shot of it.

I'd like to get more views on this space plane to make a flying model rocket of it.

You can just ask him questions in the "comments" section at the bottom of an entry. He's pretty good about responding, though he does have busy stretches with the real job.

This, from John Eaves' blog, may also be of interest.

I changed your image to a link, because hotlinking isn't permitted. You should check out an image-hosting site like Photobucket (that's the one I use) to store images that you may want to display in a post.

Thanks for the link! That drawing helps quite a bit.
