Captain's log, stardate: today. This is my 33,705th post as member (and sometimes troublemaker) at the TrekBBS...
I look at the member list and happily still recognize a few names but also many, many new ones.
To them and their posterity we will we commit our future as they continue the spamming we have begun, boldly discussing what has been discussed countless times before....
It seems like only yesterday we were all bemoaning Faith of the Heart. "A Rod Stewart song? From Patch Adams?RICK BERMAN IS ON CRACK!!" ...
I could go on and list all the stuff I've seen but it would undoubtedly be woefully incomplete. Suffice it to say I've made many friends here since August 17, 2001, some of whom started out as archrivals. Likewise some friends turned out to be real assholes. Oh well. You win some, you lose one or two.
I'm sure I come across as a real jerk sometimes to those of you who don't know me, and certainly to those of you who just barely know me... but I want you all to know that I've had such a grand time knowing you and posting here with you. In retrospect, much as I bemoan the place and some of the clientele, this place changed my life. You guys changed my life. In many good ways, and, unfortunately a few that weren't so great. But I learned a lot from you guys and I continue to do so.

I'd also like to take a moment to remember our friends now resting at peace but whose spirit still occupies our fond memories and experience here. Here's to Nibbles, techman, Mallory, and RedRanger who are now off exploring the final frontier but remain in our memories very much still bright.
Lastly, would someone please tell me who this ShamelessMcBundy is and why he is always asking me "How You Doin?"
