"Double Dipping" on games, have you done it?

I've double dipped on a few games. Most of the time it's been getting portable versions of games I already have (most of the Mario games), or downloadable versions (Castlevania SotN).

Shadow of the Colossus: They were on a throwout table somewhere, so I bought two duplicate copies. They were dirt cheap, and given the lovely cardboard packaging (complete with art cards and what have you), it was a shame to let them sit there. Now I don't know what to do with them.

Send one to your buddy Worf. :)

Just Final Fantasy I (NES and GBA), but the GBA one has FF2 on it too, so it's only half a dip. ;)
I don't think Final Fantasy fans should count. ;)

I honestly can't say I've bought the same game twice. Unless you count buying Half-Life around 1999 and again when I got HL2 ,as it came free with that game.

I'm a gamer, but I just don't buy many games. :(

I don't do it that often, but when I do, it's mostly to get portable versions of games that I have. (The Mario games are really the only games I've double dipped on).

there have been a couple times where I've bought a game, sold it, then a few months or a year later bought it again . . . I've done this multiple times with the armored core series

Max Payne.
I originally bought them on PC but got the XBox versions because they are backward compatible with the 360.
The biggest reason I bought them was the were like $3.00 ea.

I also had Half Life 2 and bought the Orange Box, I don't really consider that Double dipping though.

X-Wing DOS floppies
X-Wing & Tie Fighter DOS CD
X Wing trilogy Windows CD.

Ho ho, I had forgotten about those.

I had both X-Wing and Tie Fighter on floppy and later on the CD versions. I also believe I had both Star Trek: 25th Anniversary and Judgment Rites in both floppy and CD versions.

I own three copies of HL2 and I don't think I'll ever finish the game. :p

I also grabbed Rainbow Six Vegas 1 twice... but I kind of gave up on playing PC ports of Ubisoft games now.

Chrono Trigger DS is an automatic double dip.

I also own PC and Xbox versions of Jade Empire and the KoTOR games.

Got the vanilla version of Morrowind, then got the GOTY edition (both PC).

Got vanilla Neverwinter Nights, then got it with expansions in the Forgotten Realms Deluxe box set (although I don't know why - I'm never going to complete NN, Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale - ever).

Lastly I got Oblivion GOTY on the 360 after owning it (and all the expansions) on the PC for two years.

Yeah I know. I'm a saddo.

I forgot to mention on my list - the Command and Conquer series. I bought all of the games (except Renegade) when they came out. Then I bought the First Decade pack simply because they went through and patched everything so the games would run on Windows XP.
