Doomsday Constellation NCC-1017

I used the 22" Cutaway Enterprise to build the USS Constellation NCC-1017 from the Doomsday Machine episode of TOS. When I saw the re mastered version I decided to do this project; I was inspired by the more extensive damage done to the CG Connie in this episode. I used the replacement parts from DLM and decals from JTGraphics.

Very well done! The transition from hull to damage is great, and I like the scorch marks.

That is awesome! The attention to detail is fantastic! Really, really well done. When I was about 12 I was into 8mm film-making. I did my own re-make of "The Doomsday Machine". I took the original approach...Zippo meets AMT model. LOL Fun times. But this model just brings that idea to an incredible level. Extremely impressed, RFluhr.

It's worth noting that you very probably put more time and effort into that model than the FX team on the episode originally did. And it shows. :techman:

Thanks for your comments guys, I have a few more pics.

This is a picture from the show that I used as a reference.

Absolutely amazing. My mind wobbles.

Just the model work alone, seeing it as is on its own, tremendous.

But the way you went beyond and created a real physical model of what was previously only a CGI creation, and recreated it to such exacting detail... how the??? what the??? what in the name of???
